Artist Bio: Sorcha Richardson is a 21-year-old folk musician from Dublin, Ireland. She is currently a writing major at The New School in New York City.
She has been a guitarist since she was 9, a drummer since she was 11, and is a self-taught pianist. Throughout high school, Sorcha was the drummer in a number bands. No one, least of all herself, considered her a singer. Sorcha had been writing songs, however, since she was ten. When she arrived in New York at the age of 18 and she realized she had a notebook full of songs and no one to sing them so she decided to sing them herself.
In the summer of 2010, Sorcha played her first showed in Dublin, and has been gigging both in New York and Ireland ever since.
In 2011, she was diagnosed with a treated for thyroid cancer, halting her music career. The song “Midnight Whistle” released exactly one year after her treatment began is about this experience. Almost back to full health, Sorcha has kept herself busy in 2012, and is already seeing the results.
She was recently featured in The Irish Times and on music blog Nialler9 and her song I Heart NYC has been played on a number Irish radio stations.
Sorcha has embarked on many collaborative projects with various musicians, including New York City music collective Colossal Mantis (ongoing), Berlin based DJ Karl M (2011), North Carolina based producer Bookworm (set for release 2012), and Irish singer-songwriter Lisa O’Brien (set for release 2012).
Sorcha will release a 5 track EP early this summer before returning to Ireland in July for 6 weeks to play a string of yet to be announced show

Artist Bio:The Mountain Goats (stylized “the Mountain Goats”) is an American folk indie rock band formed in Claremont, California by singer-songwriter John Darnielle. For many years, the sole member of the Mountain Goats was Darnielle himself, despite the plural moniker.

Throughout the 1990s, the Mountain Goats were known for producing “militantly lo-fi” home recordings (most famously, on a boom box) and releasing recordings in cassette or vinyl 7” formats.[3] Since 2002, the Mountains Goats have transitioned to a more polished approach, recording studio albums with a full band.[1][3]
The Mountain Goats are currently based in Durham, North Carolina.
